The mornings and evenings have become cool enough that we no longer need the air conditioner.
But during the day, the forecast still reaches 32°C (90°F).
Perhaps because of a passing typhoon, Kirishima is wrapped in warm, humid air.
The morning was refreshingly cool, so I set out to look for four-leaf clovers—something I hadn’t been able to do for quite a while.
The temperature itself wasn’t particularly high.
Still, the humid air felt surprisingly heavy.
As I stood there, I realized what kind of day I had been longing for.
Not simply eating lunch outdoors.
Just lying on the grass, enjoying the gentle breeze until I felt completely content.
Whenever I got hungry, I’d open my lunch box.
Afterward, I’d stretch out again, doing absolutely nothing.
Then I’d slowly wander around, searching for four-leaf clovers without thinking about anything at all.
For me, it’s important that it’s a homemade lunch—not a barbecue.
The fruit and snacks don’t need to be fancy, either.
In fact, the simpler they are, the better.
Pack everything into a small basket and stay there until your heart quietly tells you,
“This is all I need.”
To me, that’s what real luxury feels like.
It’s the kind of day I want most right now.
Not a big adventure.
Just a quiet little outing close to home.
And Kirishima is the kind of place where days like this are possible.
